A Gala to Remember: Sing Out Strong Choir Celebrates Five Years

This August, the Sing Out Strong choir is bringing their harmonious spirit back to life with a free gala concert at Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel, Usk. Marking five years since its inception, this special event promises to be a heartfelt showcase of the joy and connection that choral singing brings, particularly in challenging times.

A Choir That Emerged from Lockdown

Founded by Emma Rowland-Elsen, Sing Out Strong was initiated during lockdown as a safe haven where individuals could gather to sing for their mental well-being. The choir quickly became more than just a musical group; it became a lifeline for more than 11,000 singers across 109 countries. Leveraging online platforms, they offered free singing sessions during the pandemic, ensuring that no one had to feel isolated or alone.

The Impact and Future of Sing Out Strong

Since returning to face-to-face gatherings in 2022, Sing Out Strong has launched multiple mental health choirs throughout the UK, celebrating connection through their joyful workshops and residential weekends. This year's reunion is particularly poignant not just for the anniversary but also as they announce an international performance tour to the South of France in July 2026. Singers from all walks of life will gather once again to blend their voices into a powerful summertime celebration.

Join the Celebration

The gala concert on August 24th will be the grand finale of this year’s reunion weekend, featuring a vibrant mix of original pieces and beloved favorites. No tickets are needed; attendees simply need to arrive at the Crystal Suite from 3:30 PM for a 4 PM start. This event exemplifies community spirit, demonstrating how the arts can unite people even during the most trying times.

Whether you're a long-time supporter of Sing Out Strong or experiencing the choir for the first time, this gala is an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and feel the power of music. Mark your calendars, bring your friends, and witness the joy this choir embodies!
