This vibrant gathering highlighted the community's strong support for the Armed Forces, encompassing serving members, veterans, reservists, cadets, and their families.
Fly-Bys, Performances and Community Connection
The day kicked off with a spectacular fly-by of a Spitfire, setting a fitting tone for the event. Participants were treated to a series of musical performances, including those by the RAF Regiment Band and the Caldicot Male Voice Choir, which captured the essence of Welsh culture and patriotism. The event culminated in a poignant performance of "Sunset," marking the day's closing and serving as a tribute to all those who have served.
Engagement and Entertainment for All Ages
Not only was entertainment prominent, but engaging military demonstrations from local Army Cadets and the South Wales Fire & Rescue were also highlights. These displays educated attendees on essential safety protocols while fostering a connection to the armed forces. Cllr Peter Strong remarked on the impressive turnout, praising the people’s respect and admiration for the military community.
