Chepstow Town Council Aims to Bolster Community Projects
The Chepstow Town Council is taking a significant step to uplift local communities by launching a Community Grants Scheme with a budget allocation of £24,000 for the current financial year. This initiative is aimed at supporting local organizations looking to embark on projects that may otherwise struggle to secure funding from traditional sources.
Supporting Local Initiatives with Small Grants
Under the scheme, a maximum of £500 is available through the Small Grants Scheme, allowing community groups to apply for funding that meets simple criteria. The council encourages submissions from organizations ready to utilize the grant by 31st March 2026. This opportunity is particularly valuable for small groups that have innovative ideas but face financial hurdles.
VE Day 80 Grant Application
In addition to the broader grant opportunities, the council is also promoting a special grant initiative to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Community groups and non-profit organizations are invited to apply for up to £150 to help fund celebratory events set to take place between May 8 and 11, 2025. Eligible expenses include decorations, entertainment, and refreshments, fostering a spirit of togetherness and remembrance within the community.
How to Apply for Grants
To access these grants, community organizations must complete the appropriate application forms, which are readily available on the Chepstow Town Council’s website. The council's proactive stance in facilitating these grants is a testament to its commitment to fostering community spirit and supporting grassroots initiatives.
