The Raglan Country and Blues Festival is back with an exciting lineup this Labour weekend, featuring the much-anticipated return of the Legendary Raglan Mudsharks. They will be taking the stage at the Harbourview Hotel on Saturday night, supported by the talented Hammond Gamble. This year’s festival promises more than just blues music, with a variety of performances scheduled to cater to diverse musical tastes.
On Saturday, attendees can enjoy a songwriter's showcase at the historic Raglan Heritage Church, showcasing artists like James Ray and Bruce Dennis among others. The church will also host a Country Gospel Showcase on Sunday, featuring performances from Jamesa Ray and the Swamp Dogs.
Community Resilience Forum Encourages Local Engagement
In addition to the musical festivities, Whaingaroa locals are encouraged to participate in Forum 2 of the Resilient Communities Whaingaroa series. Set for Sunday, August 17, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Town Hall, this gathering aims to strengthen community bonds. Attendees will showcase local resilience projects, discuss key factors that contribute to community strength, and outline shared priorities for the future. Organisers emphasize the importance of connecting various local initiatives and leveraging opportunities for community improvement.
